The C-Class is Mercedes-Benz's bestseller car and a new generation right around the corner. Now a completely new Mercedes-Benz C-Class version has been shown and it is a car with completely new solutions in many areas. Among other things, all models will be electrified in some form.
The big news on the new C-Class is digitization and electrification. But this is far from everything. The body has been redesigned so that the interior spaces are more generous, the turning radius is narrow and pocket parking is much easier. Although the new model is 6.5 centimetres longer and has a 2.5 cm longer wheelbase than its predecessor.
The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class has the second generation of the MBUX voice-controlled infotainment system. MBUX now has its own integration with various external systems. MBUX can now also connect to various smart-home solutions, so that you can say via your voice in the car, for example, "Hello Mercedes - turn on the light on the patio". A piece of really big news is that MBUX can now update itself wirelessly.
In terms of engines, the news comes primarily from the elimination of large engines with six and eight cylinders, with equally high consumption. It is a somewhat natural move in the context of new emission regulations and allows 2.0-litre engines to meet the needs of demanding customers. All classic engines, turbo, gasoline and diesel, are equipped with mild hybrid technology, with starter - generator and 48 V battery, with powers from 170 to 258 hp (gasoline) and 200 - 265 (diesel).
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be able to be ordered with the completely new Digital Light concept, which is also available in the new S-Class. The LEDs of the headlights project their light via a total of 2.6 million individually controllable pixels. These interact with the car's sensors and computers.
The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class will start sales at the end of March. The first cars will arrive this summer. @Mercedes-Benz.
