The V6 engine has a displacement of 2992 cubic centimetres and has an angle of 120 degrees between the cylinder banks, between which are positioned the turbochargers produced by IHI, forming a V type configuration. The latter allows engineers to minimize the delay in response to acceleration, and the Italians have managed to achieve a power of 221 horsepower per litre, which is a record value for a series production car. According to Ferrari, each of the turbochargers that equip this engine can reach 180,000 revolutions per minute.
In total, the V6 engine delivers 663 horsepower, but the total power of the Ferrari 296 GTB is 830 horsepower and 740 Nm thanks to a plug-in hybrid system integrated onboard. With these resources available, the new Ferrari 296 GTB sports car can sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds. Also, the 296 GTB can reach a top speed of 330 km / h.
The Ferrari 296 GTB sports car has an eight-speed automatic transmission, familiar to Ferrari customers who have an SF90 Stradale / Spider, a Roma or a Portofino M. Because we are talking about a plug-in hybrid, the battery is located under the floor and has a capacity of 7.45 kWh, which ensures a range of up to 25 kilometres in zero-emission mode.
Despite the implementation of a plug-in hybrid system, the Ferrari 296 GTB sports car weighs 1,470 kilograms if equipped with the Assetto Fiorano package. This package includes several carbon fibre elements both inside and out. In addition to these, the standard tires brought by that package are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R, and customers also receive a paint reminiscent of the 250 LM model (it is the grey model with yellow accents).
The interior is similar to those of its range brothers, and those from Ferrari are ready to offer different colours and materials on board, depending on customer preferences, all through the customization program offered by the manufacturer in Maranello.
